In this short story unit we did an assignment for every short story. We answered 15 questions for "the sound of hollyhocks”. We drew a conflict poster for "gentlemen your verdict”. We wrote an essay regarding the protagonist traits and changes he had as the story progressed for "the firing squad”. We learned how to integrate quotes from story’s when we write essays and how write a synthesis essay and define characterization. We learned some vocab, we did a quiz on literary terms which we got notes on. We did a short story project on a chosen by the student we had to choose whether we will do a Facebook/twitter page or an I-movie trailer but it was mandatory for everybody to make up 10 questions and also write the answers, finally we wrote a synthesis essay on comparing character vs. self-dilemma on "The Firing Squad" and "Gentlemen Your Verdict".We practiced on how to write narrative essay,we were given a topic where we had talk about our experiences or make up an experience,and we did one in class and for the other one were we were allowed to take
